Children’s Ministry Internship - Job Description
Position Title: Children’s Ministry Intern
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Term: September 2025 through November 2025 (Optional continuation through December and/or Spring Semester)
Hours: Approx. 12 hours/week (not including travel)
Compensation: $1,000/month + $50/month professional expense account + $500 bonus (if full year served)
POSITION OVERVIEW: As Children’s Ministry Intern, your role is to lead our Kid's Ministry under the guidance of the Lead Pastor. You will help shape programs, disciple kids, and engage volunteers while learning and growing in ministry. Your academic commitments will be respected as part of this development-oriented role.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
•Plan, prepare, and lead the HUB (6:30-7:30pm)
•Speak weekly, except for one Wednesday/month (recruit other teachers)
SUNDAYS
•Attend morning worship at 10:00am
•Facilitate Kid’s Church with rotation of volunteers, teaching once/month
•Lead team of volunteers and provide lesson curriculum for nursery
COMMUNICATION
•Weekly 1-on-1 with Lead Pastor (45-60 minutes)
•Communicate with parents about programs and events
•Develop meaningful relationships with kids and their parents
VOLUNTEERS
•Schedule and communicate with current volunteers
•Recruit and onboard new volunteers as needed
EVENTS
•Lead our church in participating in the Mountain Home Spooktacular event
•Plan one kids & family event in November or December
•Events requiring extra travel to Mountain Home earn a $100 stipend (maximum of one/month)
•Organize logistics for events; engage parents and volunteers
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong communication and organizational skills
•Loves children and pointing them toward Jesus
•Creative self-starter with consistent follow-through
•Currently enrolled in ministry-related courses preferred
•One year of ministry experience preferred, but not required
TERMS & BENEFITS:
•Minimum Commitment: 3 months (Fall Semester)
•Spring Return Option: January – April (at same rate)
•Full Year Bonus: $500 if serving both semesters
•Professional Expense Account: $50/month for connections with kids & families
EDUCATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
•Academic conflicts should be communicated in advance
•Intern is responsible for finding appropriate coverage
•MHNaz will support requirements for supervised ministry experience

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY STATUS:
•Current active programs: Sunday morning nursery, Sunday morning Kids’ Church (except final Sunday of each month), Wednesday Night in the HUB
•Nursery teams for each Sunday of the month (1st – 5th), Kid’s Church teams for three of the four possible Sundays needed, no regular volunteers for the HUB
•Recent past curriculum: current Children’s Director has pulled various series of curriculum from online sources
•Intern may help select or create new curriculum with Lead Pastor
